Yesterday Microsoft published the price-model for its Windows Azure Cloud. What’s interesting about the model is that it appears to be very similar to the Amazon Web Services model.<\/p>\n
Amazon<\/a> is asking for $12.5 cents for each hour of a Windows Server base, in contrast to Microsoft<\/a> has stated that the price will be 12 cents. The service will be free until November. It’s not yet clear whether comparing Windows Azure to Windows Amazon EC2 is a fair comparison given the drastic differences in functionality. \nMicrosoft Windows Azure defines its as a “cloud services operating system”, which serves development. They also said that a Private Cloud solution will be offered. This will most likely be a development of their current Hyper-V based virtual infrastructure. Currently, to build applications and services on Windows Azure, developers must use Microsoft Visual Studio 2008, defining code suitable for deploying the application in Microsoft’s Cloud services, making the application highly scalable.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
